Wind Energy

Today, wind energy is exploited to convert the kinetic energy of the air into electrical energy.

The terms wind energy or wind power generation are used today to describe the conversion of the kinetic energy stored in moving bodies of air into electrical energy. The air acquires the energy as a result of temperature and hence pressure differences caused by solar radiation. Obeying thermodynamic laws, the air tends to move in such a way as to balance out the pressure differences, producing what we recognise as wind.

Modern wind turbine plants have aerodynamically shaped rotor blades similar to those produced for aircraft. The special form of the blades ensures that enough drive is generated to produce a sufficiently high degree of efficiency.
