Translation Memories
Translation Memories ensure that terminology is used consistently and thus improve the quality of any translation.
Translation memories have become indispensable tools in the translation industry. They make large projects easier to handle efficiently and are an aid to maintaining consistent usage of terminology.
The use of a translation memory ensures uniform use of terms not just within a single document, but throughout the portfolio of all translations for a given customer. This leads to improved quality for your translated documents, irrespective of whether they are of a technical, commercial or legal nature.
Translation systems represent intelligent assistants for translators – on the other hand, their effectiveness depends on the skill with which they are implemented. Translation memory programs register all the elements which are used in the course of a translation and suggest their reuse where they reappear in the same text or in a later translation. They can also recognise partial (‘fuzzy’) agreement between passages which are similar, but not identical. Sensible use of a translation memory improves the consistency and therefore the quality of translations and can also contribute to reducing the costs of translation.
We implement the following translation memories:
SDLX Trados
Heartsome
across
Déjà Vu
Wordfast
Through the use of these tools we can respond to many different types of request.
